BUTTER ICING

Ingredients
  1. 100g butter, softened
  2. 1 cup dextrose icing sugar
  3. ¼ teaspoon vanilla essence
  4. 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, beat butter with electric beaters until pale and fluffy.
  2. Gradually add icing sugar (1/4 cup at a time) and beat well after each addition.
  3. Add milk and beat again. Add a couple of drops of food colouring to suit if using and mix thoroughly.
Notes
  1. * This should be enough icing to cover my Cupcake recipe if you are just spreading the icing on with a knife. If you are doing fancy piping with the icing, you may want to double the recipe.
  2. To make a chocolate version, add 1 tablespoon of sifted cocoa powder in with the icing sugar.
